HUMAN RIGHTS

Access to Services and Accomodations

Ensuring equal access to public services, facilities, and accommodations without discrimination, including issues related to accessibility for persons with disabilities are all things you are entitled to in Ontario.

Discrimination

Discrimination based on protected grounds, such as race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, or family status.

Education

Human Rights ensures equal access to education facilities and when you're not afforded such accommodations, these facilities may be in violation of the Human Rights Code.  Addressing discrimination or exclusion in educational institutions based on protected grounds is something Rasouli Law takes seriously, as should you.

Employment Equity

Employers are required to engage in proactive practices to ensure that all Canadians have the same access to the labour and job market. Employment equity forbids hiring practices and workplace policies that discriminate against certain people. An employer is prohibited from treating workers differently because of things such as gender, race or ethnic heritage, disability and religion, among others.

Freedom of Expression

The Human Rights Code protects peoples right to freedom of speech, opinion, and expression, including their rights pertaining to censorship, restrictions on artistic or political expression, or limitations on public discourse.

Freedom of Religion

Cases involving the protection of religious freedoms, such as religious accommodation, dress codes, practices, the rights to access religious institutions, religious gatherings, even extending to medical rights as it pertains to your religious beliefs.

Gender Equality

Promoting gender equality and addressing issues of gender-based discrimination, violence against women, pay equity, reproductive rights, and LGBTQ+ rights are all outlined very clearly under the Human Rights Code.  If you feel you've been discriminated against based on your gender or gender identity know your rights.

Harassment

Harassment takes many forms, it can range from unfounded complaints against yourself,  bullying, sexual harassment or other forms of mistreatment that create a hostile or intimidating work or living environment.  If you are suffering from harassment contact Rasouli Law and get the guidance you deserve.
